Segovia – Home of the Fairytale castle
With an ancient Roman aqueduct and a 13th century castle, this city is full of symbols representing its past. Established by the Romans, the area became a retreat for Spanish monarchs.
Known as the "Alcazar", the castle was destroyed in the 19th century and rebuilt in the fairytale fashion we now see. Segovia Cathedral is a monument to the end of the Gothic era and a symbol of Spain's Catholic roots.
